I am a studio

Feature lengthers

I was involved in the production of some movies while doing my undergrad in Media Production, and none of them are films I would particularly recommend watching. The exceptions are the films of Michael Henry (he’s a gem and I couldn’t ruin one of his films if I tried – and I’ve tried), and another exception is Small Town Hero.

I’m not sure how or even if I’m credited in Small Town Hero. I bought it on Amazon upon release so I could show friends my name in the credits of a film(!) but the version I bought had incomplete credits. There’s a scene where the residents of the titular small town, in a paranoid paedo panic, are making signs of protest. My proud contribution to the film: the slogan “Paedon’t”.

The movie I did some special effects for has been watched over three milly times on YouTube, and was awarded Best Visual Effects by Los Angeles Film Review. And the one I script-doctored, produced, and feel guilty for asking friends and family to help fund won Best Romance at the London Film Awards. I think these are probably sham vanity awards… the kind where they charge you to enter, award everyone a prize, and then charge you for the trophy. When we were in college, my mate Richard and I got published in a collection of short stories that had a similar business model: publish everything, charge everyone. The short story was as follows…

My dog is called Frederick. He’s as big as a horse. My dog is now dead. All I feel is remorse. And now I’m on a plane to Switzerland.

Here’s my IMDb page. My stage name is Reid. There were already lots of Andrews.

And here’s a trailer for Michael Henry’s film Mute. You can see me out of focus at 0:02, the back of my head at 0:10, the side of my head at 0:22, and me beating up a girl at 0:27. When filming the truncheoning scene, I was confronted by a concerned passer-by who was dragging a cart of bricks. Thankfully a member of crew stepped in and pointed out the cameras before I got my head caved in.
